MESI's Story

Hello, I am Susan, the founder of Modern English Scholastic Institute or 美西 and I would like to express my appreciation for everyone’s heartwarmingly positive feedback towards our teaching and college app consulting services. 

大家好，我是「美西留學教育顧問」的創辦人Susan。我要感謝大家，一直以來對我們學校的教學品質與申請美國大學服務，給予正面與熱烈的支持的支持。 

After teaching in other schools in America, Hong Kong and Taipei for the past 10 years, I decided to open a NEW type of school to teach English. Graduating with a Masters of Education Degree in TESOL from the University of Pennsylvania, I gained insight into a multitude of teaching methods that Asian schools do not currently embrace. I founded this language institute in 2015 in hopes to bring a highly compassionate, approachable, and hands-on form of teaching to Taiwan. 

過去10年，我在美國、香港及台灣累積許多英語教學經驗。在美國賓州大學英語教學碩士班攻讀學位時，學習到 不同與許多亞洲語言學校的英語教學方法。滿懷著對英語教學的熱誠、理念及多年的教學經驗，我決定在2015年創立美西留學教育顧問，並朝著打造一間體恤家長和學生、展現親切態度、且專業訓練的語言學校。

 Apart from teaching English and offering standardized test prep courses such as ISEE/SSAT, TOEIC, TOEFL, New SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, we are expanding our services to LSAT and MCAT. Alongside test prep and monitorized mock tests, we also provide college application consulting services. 

美西留學教育顧問服務項目除了小學生的英語會話、文法寫作班、台北美國學校入學考(ISEE/SSAT) 、美國大學入學考試(New SAT & ACT) 、研究所要考的(GRE & GMAT) 、托福(TOEFL)及雅思(IELTS) 、成人商用英語、多益(TOEIC)、新聞英語(News English) 、客製化及一對一課程教學以外，我們也提供申請英美大學及研究所的輔導和協助。

 At MESI, my team and I created a state-of-art learning environment. There is a common area for students to engage in discussions or pre-review homework. There is also a conference room to cater to 1-on-1 students and business classes. Besides four classrooms, we also have a computer lab where students can take TOEFL and GRE mock tests. 

美西致力於給家長學生一個舒適及優良的學習環境，除了有能讓學生在課前預習或下課後能完成功課的公共空間。我們另有一間給一對一課程和商用英語學生的會議室，除了教室外、美西也有給托福和GRE學生上機模擬考的電腦教室。 

Lastly, we have a diverse range of talented teachers. For example, Annie Jeng, graduated from Upenn with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in History. She worked on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst and Stock Trader. She offers knowledge into the everyday jargon of the business world so we can better prepare our business minded students. Annie also works alongside students to mold and nurture their creative minds thus ensuring their college applications to stand out against the other applicants. 

美西的老師及顧問真的很多才多藝，像是Annie 老師也是常春藤名校賓州大學畢業的，主修經濟及副修歷史。來美西前在華爾街工作，所以為美西的商用英文課程、或是一對一客制化小班課程，增添很多色彩與專業的知識。Annie也對輔導學生申請美國大學及撰寫申請文章很專業，所以美西學生能在眾多申請者中脫穎而出。 All the faculty and students from MESI sincerely welcome you to join our big family! 美西的老師及所有學生，誠摯的邀請你加入這個大家庭。
